What we install at a gate
Gate access is about who can trigger the gate and how. Typical components include:
- Video intercom panels on a pedestal or column, reachable from a car window
- Card, fob, or mobile-credential readers for residents and staff
- Keypads for codes, including temporary codes for guests and deliveries
- Request-to-exit and vehicle-detection inputs where the operator supports them
- Connection to an access control platform for schedules and activity records
What gate access does not include
We don't build gates, repair gate motors or operators, or service garage doors. If an operator isn't working reliably, it should be repaired by a gate technician before entry hardware is added. We'll tell you if we see that during the assessment, and we're happy to coordinate with your gate company.
Pedestal placement, power, and the weather
A gate reader is only useful if a driver can reach it. We look at lane width, approach angle, and mounting height, and whether there's power and a data path to the pedestal. South Florida sun, rain, and salt air are hard on outdoor electronics, so we favor hardware rated for outdoor use and plan for conduit and sealing.
Property types we work with
Gated residential communities
Resident readers, guest codes, and a visitor intercom at the main gate.
Condo and townhome associations
Vehicle and pedestrian gates tied to the same credentials as the lobby.
Commercial and industrial lots
Staff entry by schedule, vendor codes, and after-hours lockout.
Private estates
A driveway gate intercom that rings your phone, with a code for family.
How the installation process works
- 01
Assessment
We review the gate, the operator's make and model, power, and how traffic flows.
- 02
Recommendation & quote
You get a written scope: panel, readers, wiring, and what the operator needs.
- 03
Installation & setup
We mount, wire, connect to the compatible operator, and enroll users.
- 04
Walkthrough
We test every credential type and show management how to add and remove access.
Compatibility considerations
Not every product fits every door or property. These are the things we check first:
- The gate operator must accept a dry-contact or supported trigger input.
- Power and a network or cellular path are needed at the pedestal for connected devices.
- Long driveways may need trenching or a wireless bridge; we'll flag that early.
- Associations often need board approval before changing gate entry.
What to send us
A few details help us check compatibility before we recommend anything:
- Photos of the gate, the operator (motor) box, and its label
- Where the pedestal or panel would go, and whether there's power nearby
- Roughly how many residents, staff, or vehicles use the gate
- Who approves the project (association, management, or owner)
Common questions
- Can you add an intercom to our existing gate?
- Often, yes — if the gate operator accepts a trigger input and is in good working order. We check the operator model during the assessment.
- Do you repair gate motors?
- No. We handle the entry side: intercoms, readers, keypads, and their wiring. We can coordinate with your gate technician.
- Can guests get a temporary code?
- Most keypad and access platforms support temporary or scheduled codes. Exactly how depends on the system you choose.
- Is there a monthly fee?
- Some cloud intercoms and access platforms charge a subscription; standalone keypads usually don't. We'll show the ongoing costs before you decide.
