Common Akuvox projects
Lobby door stations for apartment and condo buildings, gate intercoms on a pedestal, and villa-style door stations for single-family homes are the requests we see most.
Planning the install
We check whether the building has usable existing wiring, where indoor monitors (if any) will go, how the door station will release the lock, and what network path is available. Capabilities differ between Akuvox models, so we match the model to the entrance rather than assuming every feature is present.
- Door station and mounting location
- Lock release wiring and exit hardware
- Indoor monitors or app-based answering
- Network and power at each device
Akuvox IP cameras: VC50B and VC50T
Akuvox also makes IP cameras. The VC50B (bullet) and VC50T (turret) are 5MP outdoor cameras in IP67 metal housings with PoE or 12V power, human detection, ONVIF and RTSP support, and an SD card slot up to 512GB. At a lobby or gate, they're a practical way to add camera coverage alongside an Akuvox door station.
- PoE cabling from a network switch
- SD card or a separate ONVIF-compatible recorder
- Placement covering the door station approach
- How video is viewed alongside intercom calls
Requesting an assessment
Send photos of the door (outside, inside, and the edge), the model you're considering if you have one, and what you want it to do. We'll confirm whether it's a good fit before scheduling installation.
Questions about Akuvox
- Can residents answer on their phones?
- Many Akuvox setups support app-based answering; which options apply depends on the model and how it's configured.
